Eclectic: What Does it Mean to You?

While working at the Kittle’s Bloomington store in college, my eyes were opened to all the possibilities of the furniture world. There truly is so much out there, so many different ways to style your space, and so many fabrics and leathers to choose from. It’s endless and I guess you could say it’s “Eclectic.”
Think of eclectic as a style that creates a sense of belonging with pieces that wouldn’t necessarily be placed together. It’s different. Being eclectic means thinking outside the box: pairing things together based on color, shape, or even texture, to create a grouping from a range of items that you wouldn’t originally see complimenting each other.
I learned the definition of eclectic from a good friend, and Kittle’s employee, Angela Mills. Now, Miss Mills is one of a kind herself, but more importantly, she embodies the eclectic soul and when she tells a customer why she likes a piece, she means it.

“I like eclectic style because there are no limitations,” she says. “My favorite part about the style is being able to bring out individual styles that fit a person’s personality and lifestyle. Mixing different styles, woods, fabrics, and colors make for a very unique and exciting space that I believe helps people love their furniture for longer.”
Working with Mills in the Bloomington store and learning her love for the eclectic style made me realize that you really can find your different with Kittle’s Furniture. Not only can you find it, but you can create your own form of it. All the quirks and idiosyncrasies of your personal lifestyle, everything you desire can come together to create one different, eclectic space that works together because it’s yours!
Mills’ favorite part about working for Kittle’s is just that. She enjoys being able to utilize her creativity to help furnish her client’s homes into a place that they love coming home to.
